Roles and Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning: Develop long-term and short-term strategies to grow the discounted broking business segment. This includes identifying target markets, setting revenue targets, and implementing marketing strategies to attract clients. 2. Team Leadership: Lead a team of brokers and support staff, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures. 3. Client Acquisition and Retention: Develop and maintain relationships with clients seeking discounted brokerage services. Implement initiatives to attract new clients while ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention. 4. Product Development: Collaborate with product development teams to design and launch new products and services tailored to the needs of discounted broking clients. Monitor market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation. 5. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies governing discounted broking operations. Implement controls to mitigate risks associated with trading activities and financial transactions. 6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as client acquisition rates, trading volumes, revenue growth, and client satisfaction levels. Prepare regular reports for senior management to assess departmental performance and identify areas for improvement. 7. Technology and Infrastructure: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology systems and infrastructure required to support discounted broking operations. Identify opportunities to leverage technology to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve client experience. 8. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, operations, and compliance to ensure alignment of goals and effective cross-functional coordination. Qualifications and Skills: • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred. • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Series 7, Series 24) may be required. • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a leadership role within a stockbroking firm or financial services institution, with a focus on discounted broking or online trading. • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading instruments, and brokerage operations. • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals. • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset. • Proficiency in technology systems and trading platforms used in brokerage operations. • Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements governing brokerage activities. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and senior management.
